When I told my friends and family that one of my favorite cities on my recent cross-country road trip was Boise, Idaho, I got many blank stares. No one expected it – they thought I would say the big cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, or New Orleans.

Returning from a trip can be one of the saddest moments of a trip. It signals a return to real life. I have many friends who literally become depressed when they get home, but I have worked hard to ensure that that never happens to me.
